When we click on a link that no more exists, we see a 404 error page. It is not good for both Search engines and blog visitors. Visitors may feel it is low quality site or blog. So you can use some relevant text, image and also retain the traffic by showing them a way to go to your blog homepage or to any popular post of your blog. Please follow these below steps. Read how to redirect 404 error pages to your blog home page.
1 Go to your Blogger Account and start a new post. (Important: You never publish it).
2 On the post editor write a message and put a relevant image. You may also insert a link to your homepage or to any popular post or contact page.
3 Now click on the HTML tab of the post editor and copy the whole HTML code. Don’t publish it just click the Save Button.
4 Close the Post editor and follow the below path.
Settings –> Search Preferences –> Custom Page not found -> Click on Edit link and paste the HTML code, you just copied. Now click Save Changes.
