In this post I am going to show you how to add Google Universal analytics to your WordPress blog We all know Google Analytics is a most popular web tool provided by Google. Universal Analytics is the new version of analytics which was launched last year from Google. It brings in a new tracking code which facilitates to track a user's behavior among different devices and lot of new features. Below are the simple steps to add Google Universal analytics to your website.
Steps to add Google Universal Analytics to WordPress website manually
1 Sign in to your Google Analytics account and click on Admin tab.2 Click on Tracking info option and then click on Tracking code. See the image below.
3 Now copy the tracking code and paste it to a notepad file.
4 Login to your WordPress site
5 Click on Appearance -> Editor
5 Click on Appearance -> Editor
6 Open Header.php file located on the right side of the Window.
7 Locate closing </head> tag and paste the code snippet just above it.
8 Click on Update file button.
Now the code has been successfully added to your website.

Steps to add Google Universal analytics to WordPress blog through Plugin
1 Login to your WordPress site
2 Click on Plugins -> Add new
3 Type Google Universal Analyitcs on the search box and click on Search plugins button.
4 Locate the plugin from the list
5 Click on Install Now link and activate the plugin
Now configure it
6 Turn status button ‘ON’ and add the web property ID from Google Analytics (UA-XXXXXX-X) and click on save changes button.
If you have followed these above steps, Google Universal Analytics plugin should now be installed. The information may take some time to appear in your Analytics account.
